Fark. I believe Keno watches the World Series, so I was going to bet him 1000 exp. Phillie would win, but he took off for the weekend.

    Guess what? >_<

Hey Soulweaver, have you ever considered giving Gandt a Mighty Composite bow? A +4 version is only something like 500gp, and if he creates an oversized bow for his size, its damage goes up along with the maximum STR rating (so I imagine).

I know Gandt is Mr. Shield man, but if we're ever in a situation where we're forced into ranged combat, it may be nice to know we have a guy who deals 1d8+4 damage per arrow (or *gasp* 1d10+7).

Yeah, but as much as I'd like for him to have one (and I would), he thinks ranged weapons are unfair and cowardly. I'm having trouble thinking of a reason for him to change his mind.

That's a good trait for Gandt to have, but I suppose mind control and magical balls of fire would strike Gandt as even more unfair and cowardly. Maybe he can reason that a bow is a good weapon to have when the cowards and tricksters aren't willing to fight like real men.

Gladiators strike me as the type of guys who would take whatever advantage they can get, especially against unusual opponents. Not that I'm arguing. Gandt is obviously the stubborn type.

Perhaps his rules will change if he's ever on the receiving end of those types of attacks (not that I want to give Keno any ideas, here).

46F in my house, but its now warmer in my basement than the upper floors. Power came back on briefly (for 15 minutes) late yesterday afternoon. More snow falling today, and we've got a decent chance to be hammered on Monday.

Would it be possible to work out a Diplomacy check to convince the defenders of Farshore to "try harder" in their efforts to prepare the colony's defense? I guess it's something of a pre-rally.

Kit feels the pirates now have a pressing need to defeat Farshore and the colony may not be able to defend themselves if their need to survive, and not flee, isn't equal or greater.
