Got a bunch of gift cards. Which means I have to wait until stores open to actually get anything for Christmas.

Oh well, I'll get to take advantage of all the post-Christmas sales.

Oh my God...Avatar defies description. But I'll try. It was spectacular, fantastic, amazing, unbelievable, fun, awe-inspiring, and amazing. Okay, I said 'amazing' twice. Sue me. Srsly, though, best movie ever, do yourself a favor and see it, and be sure to see it in 3-D. cool.gif

I'm going to check it out tomorrow actually. Wanted to go today, but everyone is in too much of a food coma to slide off of the couch. Weak.

I am actually going to see it in standard, as i've talked to four of my friends who saw it in 3D and said it just gave them headaches and they wish they had not. Anyway, i'm off to see it in and hour and a half. Should be sweet.

It depends where you sit. If you get a seat too close, you will indeed get a headache (which is true of any 3D showing). If you have any sort of depth perception problems, you may also find the film throb-inducing -- I recall Firemyst said it made his head hurt.

Yeah, I wanted to see it IMAX 3-D, but the nearest theater that was showing it was too far away, and I couldn't get the family to agree to come. So...Standard screen.

I don't think I missed that much though.

Ok.... so.... seriously. I ended up seeing it in 3D because it was the only way they had it at my theater a block away...

Avatar may well be one of the best movies I have ever seen. Seriously epic, grandiose, inspiring, weighted, emotional... arghhh the list goes on. I am seeing it again tomorrow with a friend who has not. Arghhh... I can't recommend it enough. Cameron has struck gold again.

    Amen Rahl!

I was on the fence about seeing it in 3D and FB talked me into it. So glad that we did. The glasses were a bit annoying, only because i never wear my own glasses for all that long. But I had no issues with headaches from it. Then again we sat in the very very back towards the middle. Perfect seats.

I would love to see it again.

First Print Hardcovers of The First Five Hugo Winners Collections. All in pretty damn good shape too. The binding's a little loose on Vol. 3 so I'll have to be careful while reading it, but still. Dad came through big with this one.

Forgot to mention it in my previous post but I'm an incredibly lazy chef, and thus have collected many crockpot recipes over the years. If you're interested, just say the word and I'll message you a few of my favorites.
