I see what you're getting at. The chart shows fewer people logging in on a daily basis, which might just mean that some players have moderated the number of times they log in during the week, alternately it could also indicate a drop-off in player numbers, or indeed a combination of the two. People are spending less time with it, but you're right, we can't use the chart to draw any more accurate conclusions than that ...

Well, every MMO also has the first month OO SHINY period; If it isn't WoW, it's seen a drop after a month. Some games hold steady (DAOC and FFXI being the prime example). Also, because we're only seeing an average per day we can't break down which side of the world is playing more or less. For example, if we see a 50% decrease in NA players but a 40% increase in JP players, it's still technically a net loss but it's not a pure drop. They also pimpslapped a bunch of bots off the servers which may account for a dip or two.

    NSFW

The chart was average daily player population.

Paws asked for an accurate source, not porn.

Uh, the chinese version of FFXIV was being run through them, because FFXIV that we get has an IP block on China. Shanda only operate games, they do not develop them.

    This isn't news.

That "Evidence" even though it see's drops in many areas, are still up 26% this fiscal year.

Given the fact that the first of the major fix patches are out. (Hello smoother UI.) It seems that SE's working to make up for the mistake made Releasing FFXIV in the condition it was. We'll see if it helps the subscription base any in the long run.

Still wish Dissidia 012 would be for consoles instead of handholds, it would help their sales. Hell, even a PSN Port playable on the PS3 would be intelligent sales wise. I'm not holding out too much hope for the remaining FFXIII titles will be highly popular. SE needs to re-explore its roots.

Server numbers are always a stupid thing to publish, whether they're good or bad; the change puts them in line with the rest of the industry and I'm not sure why that's a BFD. Also, we're still seeing numbers that aren't relevant -- and the 50+ population was almost entirely RMT, so the fact it's "falling" means SE is doing something right, IMO.

Yeah... cause posting server report numbers during an american holiday is always accurate... Not to mention it's what... two days after the patch?

Also, of what consequence is this now of yours Noob? Again, SE still makes gains off of this fiscal year, no matter what you'd like to project with NSFW report posts. The subscription base isn't going to stabilize for at least a year, and even then dependent upon what patches come up. It's like you've made it your personal mission to report every possible indication that FFXIV will fail. And believe me, we don't need you telling us that, there are countless people with nothing better to do with their lives than to try to smear the enjoyment of others to try to prove that they were 'right'. Don't add to it.

A bang up job they are doing. (NSFW)

This tragi-comical farce is of some interest to me, and so I am inclined to discuss it. Beyond that, I know a few people who were quite put-out that FFXIV didn't live up to its potential, and so I have no option but to follow this story, as it gets talked about an awful lot.

If you look to the top of the page you'll see that this is the 'Abysmal FFXIV Review!' thread, which should give some indication as to the nature of topics up for discussion. :)

So the entire point of this thread is to insult Square Enix for a mistake they made? Just because it states a negative at the beginning does not give a topic freedoms to continually be negative (and bias towards negative at that.)

It says Abyssmal 'Reviews' and the reviews are over. Now you're grasping at straws in questionable websites to look for anything negative to SE possible. If that's going to be the trend to push on this topic, I'd rather it locked. Again, I left my last forums due to incessant negativity.

You talk about what you like Hyrist, I'm happy that you're happy with what SE served you. But I don't have to justify speaking of FFXIV's deficits in a thread titled 'Abysmal FFXIV Review!'.

People who view the game positively will have positive things to say, people who view the game negatively will have negative things to say. That's how opinions work Hyrist.

More the fact you're now parrotting everything negative you can find and making fun of anyone who does enjoy it. Moreover, considering your attitude NooB, I'd say the thread has lost any potential for actual discourse, so we'll call this chapter closed.
