The Fabula Nova Crystallis Trailer Has Finally Come

Square Enix isn't exactly giving us a thirty minute trailer that details every aspect of the two games, but something is a lot better than nothing. See the first gameplay trailer for Versus XIII and Agito XIII right here.

Sweet! Agito looks gorgeous, as does Final Fallout Versus XIII :P

I can't wait for either one, though I wonder how far along Versus is. It seemed a bit empty.

Agito kinda looks a bit like what I imagined an FF7 remake would look like. Definitely could be interesting.

And I'm getting a total Fallout 3 vibe from Versus 13. I get the feeling it might employ some very western design philosophies.

I'm not terribly worried about Agito, Square's PSP offerings have been solid all this gen.

Versus better be the game to end all games for how long they've taken on it.

Seriously though, these two look like they will make up for XIII (yeah yeah differing opinions, I say it was whack). They really do look gorgeous!

It looks interesting, both of them. I'm still needing to finish FFXIII, but the letters on all the small text don't look good and are almost unreadable on my tv. I need a bigger, HD tv for a few games I have the same problem with.

Agito looks amazing! And Versus... I wait on pins and needles!!!! Isn't the wait long because the team did 3 Kingdom Hearts games and helped with FF13? I think the updates will come rolling in soon now that there are no other "distractions".

It was kinda hard to see what was actually happening in Agito or how it worked, but it looked good. Versus looked amazing, and the music that came on when that started showing was awesome too. I remain cautiously optimistic, though.

Agito instantly reminded me of FF12, I don't know why. The story/setting they had released awhile ago totally sold me on the game so I'm more than ready for it.

Until now, I didn't care about Versus, but I agree it reeks of Fallout 3 but with a more accessible third-person mode, so I'm definitely more interested than I was. But still no NPCs in sight! Waiting to see more before I get excited.

We haven't seen any of the towns in Versus, so that trailer isn't necessarily an indication of the aesthetics of the game as a whole. It doesn't look like there are any towns in that clip either, which this game is supposed to have if I have read correctly.

It looks like Agito might have a navigable world map in it. If that is the case, my interest in the game has ticked up a few notches. While I think Final Fantasy Versus XIII looks good, I will unfortunately have to pass on the game due to the platform it is on.

The world map is one of the reasons that Agito gave me an FF7 vibe. The little chocobo running around on the dark-palette world map just reminds me of the world map in FF7. Couple that with a similar aesthetic and setting, and you basically have the FF7 remake everyone's been clamoring for, but without Cloud to pansy things up.

Same with SiliconNooB, would need to see something a lot more substantial to get my hopes up too much, considering myself cautiously optimistic. The pace the battle in Agito looked gave me the impression that it would work similarly to XIII, but that's me attempting to read an awful lot into the next to nothing we actually got.

Wish they wouldn't show lonely petrol stations in RPG trailers, I keep getting flashbacks to Star Ocean TLH :(

I'd be more excited if at least one of the games was more traditional. Still, they both look interesting.

I agree with this here. I liked 13 but I like my FF games like I like my women, turn based and a lot of grinding.

Verses gives me a Kingdom Hearts/FFXII/Infinite Undiscovery vibe, and in a good way.

Agito does feel a bit more FF7 based.

But what I am most interested in, and what's going to get me to buy both titles, is what is the tie in to the original? I liked FFXIII in spite of the controversial parts. (I did hate the fact that the leveling system had barriers on it, but I got over it.)

I admit I'm easy to entertain, and these two really look like they're worth the price to buy the extras. Unlike Reverent Wings.

I quite liked Revenant Wings myself, although probably helped I wasn't the original's greatest fan by a long shot so didn't have any connection to whatever changes were made - I'm also more forgiving on portable titles..

As for the tie-in to the original XIII, afaik it shares themes and myths but that's about it really - worlds and settings are different. I prefer that to using different games to explore some other part of the first story personally.

No ties whatsoever. Different worlds, different characters, different stories. There are some underlying themes that are the same, really like any other FF game to another.

Ok, so they'll both get the default "take it as it is" approach.

Clix... your gender swapped Dissidia picture varies from mildly to very disturbing depending on the characters swapped.

All I can say is, I'm glad Terra looks no less cool as a guy than as a girl.

WoL, Emprorer, Bartz, Zidane, and Kuja don't look any different.

Squalleen and Jectra are ladies I'd do in a heartbeat.

Suddenly Cloud's moodiness and Sephrioth's rabid female fandom make sense to me.

Terra and Cosmos don't look half bad as guys. And the rest just kinda miss the mark for me.

Versus looks more like FF7 than FFXIII but I don't mind. It still looks awesome. And if Agito plays as good as it looks, we may have some really good games here. ^_^

Sounds like they just borrowed the namesake and did three different stories in the same world. Interesting concept. I like what I hear! ^_^ Agito looks to be one of the best PSP games I've ever seen. And hell, even Versus looks like it ripped FFXIII a new one graphically. Now THAT is what I imagine a NEW FFVII SHOULD look like, if they ever choose to do one.

The original concept was to use the same underlying themes in all three games, but not have them set in the same world. I don't know if that's changed and not having played XIII I don't know if there's any direct connection among the three games based on the trailer.
