Daggerdale Will Be Invaded in Spring

Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale is coming, following a long and proud history of games named after Forgotten Realms cities. This one is based on the 4E rules, though, so you may want to learn some powers and study up on the Spellplague and Eladrin.

I saw the trailer, and it doesn't look that great. But I think I might get it anyway.

I was wondering when we'd see a video game based on 4th edition.

Wonder if we'll be able to carry over characters to each module as it is released. Interesting concept.

Well, 4th Edition looks like it would translate to games a lot easier than previous versions. I will have to keep an eye on this.

I'll take another dungeon crawler over a shooter any day.

Could this be a successful entry into a potential campaign world for continuing adventures in a world that may receive regular updates? A la episodic? I think Daggerdale and the D&D universe is a perfect fit. The 4e rule set seems like it would let itself fit this type of game pretty easily.

These type of game are defined as a dungeon crawler? Then in what category FFXIII and Grandia Xtreme fall?
Never buy a game published by D3 Publisher that is not WKCII. They cheated on their fans by releasing a game that they didn't support not even for a year and they released a rushed translation.

They are not dungeon crawlers, they are Diablo clones. Everyone except me is wrong.

FURTHER EXPLANATION: Dungeon crawlers are characterised by their slow, methodical pacing, thus "dungeon crawl". Diablo and the like are the opposite of that. If anything they are dungeon romps.

Bah, what a waste. 4th edition should translate directly into a tactical RPG, not some Diablo clone.

I thought this would be a mix of Daggerfall and Icewind Dale.

If this plays by D&D 4.0 then that means that this game would be impossible in single player. Players get needed bonus attacks by being near a player with a class like Warlord.

Unless single-player is like X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance where all four characters are still present and participating. Then auras and such would still work. Pretty much depends on how they handle some of that stuff. I can see some of the Warlord stuff, for example, being changed to auras instead of triggered actions.
