Xenoblade Chronicles Official Website Launches

edited August 2011 in Latest Updates
European gamers only have to wait three more days until the release of Xenoblade Chronicles. Here's hoping Nintendo of America is taking notes as this release is going to be off the hook.

My copy (with the nice red Classic Controller Pro) has shipped and if the UK postal service is kind to me it could arrive as early as Thursday. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

I need to order mine. I haven't messed with the wii to make it playable yet though, so I suppose I need to cross that bridge first.
Check out my fledgling youtube channel. It's small now, but if I get more subscribers I will start doing more with it, so stay tuned!

I guess the only reason NoA won't bring this stateside is because they want the Wii to die!?

It's possible but the thing is that the Wii U dropped support for GC games.
Never buy a game published by D3 Publisher that is not WKCII. They cheated on their fans by releasing a game that they didn't support not even for a year and they released a rushed translation.

I think sales of the European version will be okay, but nothing hugely popular, if Nintendo of America is basing their localisation on how well it does over there.

Mine is on its way from the UK as well, although it'll probably be sometime next week before it reaches me. Can't wait, everything about this game looks fantastic.

Out of curiosity where did you order your import from? I'm looking for a good place to order from.
What I have seen and done to achieve my position defies belief. What I am capable of and will be party to in order to retain it would chill your soul.

The game does seem to rock an impressive nature. Let us all know what it's like later on. My backlog is haunting me and taking up all my time. But I can live vicariously through all of you if you care to share.
    Play whatever makes you happy.

I ordered mine from http://www.game.co.uk and have no complaints so far. They actually started shipping the game out to foreign addresses yesterday. Judging from their web page, it looks like they still have some of the special edition with the red controller in stock, too. I've talked to other people who used http://www.zavvi.com and say they're reliable.

It sounds like there is a chance of it coming to America after all. If all the importers help the European sales but then don't buy the American version when it comes out, what will happen then? They'll NEVER make another American game again. UWAAAAAA!

This game looks fantastic. After reading a couple reviews I feel like I need to put other games on hold to play this only I wonder if it's worth importing it and trying to soft mod (keyword: trying) my Wii.

Between this and VCIII not being available, I'm really starting to get frustrated.

I will be importing the EU version. NOA not announcing this yet is absurd considering the translation is already complete. Add to that the pressure Operation Rainfall put on NOA and the proposed desire to cater to "core gamers" with the Wii U and the lack of announcement for this is even more upsetting. I rather send my money to Europe and the accents will be more fun as well!

I'd prefer not to mod my wii so I'll wait in hopes that there be a US release eventually.

To anybody who's interested in importing this but is hesitant about modding your Wii: you should at least look into it. Contrary to what some people want you to believe, it is easy, safe, and legal, and the only thing you need is an SD card (and a reader for it). The only downside is that you'll void your Wii's warranty, which has already expired if it's more than a year old.

I don't really want to mod my Wii since I am a big Virtual Console fan. I am afraid something that I want (like Monster World IV) will be released, and I will need a system update to play it. These games (TLS, XBC) will be my new "Terranigma"...great RPGs that I will likely never play legally.

So... This may be a dumb question but will the EU controller work on a US console?

I'm thinking of getting this... It doesn't seem that hard to use a SD card to make it playable.

I'm not sure about the controllers but the SD mod using lego star wars was literally one of the easiest things ever.... the hardest part was finding an old SD card (you can't use SDHC or at least it wouldn't work for me).

There are no region restrictions on Wii controllers, so it'll work.

Being locked out of future system updates is a valid concern, but I'm not worried about it, personally; the last Wii system update was over a year ago, and in the past, updates that blocked homebrew were typically worked around within a few days.

    Okay, thanks,

The Wii's on it's last leg anyway... And would said updates prevent you from playing certain games like Zelda SS?

Nintendo theoretically could push out an update that SS would require, but it seems unlikely, given how old the Wii is. Even if they did, the same program that you'd use to bypass region checks can also make games ignore system version checks.

The only one who loses if this don't comes in America is NOA. We got everything completely covered!

I've put a couple of hours into the game this evening and so far it plays like a cross between World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XII. It is a litte overwhelming to start with because you can roam around as you wish and there are dozens of quest givers in the opening town.

The day/night cycle is cool, and tougher monsters come out after dark. There are also unique monsters (I stumbled across a giant birdy while exploring that instantly turned my party into pate) and your level 1 monsters can coexist with level 75's elsewhere in the same zone (again, I discoved some of these and got squished). It's shame I've got to go to work tomorrow when I'd rather be playing it all day instead.

I've been reading lots of European player impressions and it seems that most of them are having a good time. My game has still not arrived, despite being shipped Monday this week. I have a feeling I won't get it tomorrow either. Bleh.

Just ordered the edition with the red controller!

Hey so would this really work? http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9086645

    It seems easy...

So many obstacles with this game, gonna fell dumb if it comes out over here soon but oh well.

Now there are some people saying you need additional cables? Anyone know more on this? Thanks.

This is why October is my "drop-dead" date for this game. They've got plenty of time to make an official announcement between now and then for an early 2012 release.
So long & thanks for all the fish!
