4 years, guys. 4 FREAKING YEARS. I can't believe that we've come this far! Thank you again for everything you guys. I'll keep this short, but thank you again!

Game on!

2008
2009
2010
2011

So, Basically, Every video game you complete during 2012, You note it here. There's no `Do X, Y or Z games count?` Any and every game counts (except for ultra-casual games like Solitaire and Hearts.). Old, New, FPS, RPG. Everything belongs here. Not just RPGs. Even though this is an RPG board, It doesn't mean that you can't list whatever game you want, This topic is in the misc, gaming section for a reason. Regardless, If you've completed a game during 2012, It goes here. Dates of completion are welcome, just for fun, but aren't necessary, nor s the difficulty settings, neither will be in the final list. When making an entry PLEASE put what system the game is from, as that WILL be in the final list, If you do not have a system for the game, I'm just going to put whatever system I think it's best on. If I've never heard of the game, I'm going to make a system up. Also, Please post the full name of the game you finished. Thanks.

I'll be updating a master list on this post once a week on Sundays. You can make one post and edit it with new games you might complete, But when I post a new post that the list has been updated, I won't be looking at the old posts for updates anymore.

One last thing I believe I should mention, This is just for fun, This isn't any sort of competition or anything. It's just a fun way to be able to keep track of what games you've beaten and see what everyone else has accomplished over the year. I repeat, This is just for fun.

Games will be listed in the following order:

Systems (In chronological order. I.E. NES, SNES, N64, etc.)
Nintendo Family
Sega Family
Playstation Family
Xbox Family
PC
Arcade

There will be a sub-catagory after each system for downloadable games. (i.e. After the 360 listing will be XBLA games, After PS3 will be PSN games.)

Handhelds
Nintendo Family
Game Gear
Playstation Portable
Mobile Games (Phone or iPod)

So without further ado! Enjoy!

Woulda finished more last year if I hadn't been playing (and still playing) Skyrim for a month and a half. Will probably still be playing it all of January, too. Stupid massive game, why'd you have to go and be so awesome?

WOOHOO!!! I guess I will get the first game of the year! I finished Assassin's Creed Revelations 360 this morning and would have finished it yesterday if I would have known I was so close. Now what to play????

I just finished Wild ARMs for PS1 a little bit ago. Loved every minute of this game. I'm glad I've finally finished it, after coming close to the end once before and having 3 or 4 false starts. The story is a bit cliche but still good, and I love the wild west theme. The music is amazing, some of the best I've heard in an RPG.

After 95 hours, I finally beat The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim [Xbox 360] with only three achievements missing. Sadly my Thieves Guild armor is nowhere to be found so that screwed me out of an achievement, and the other two are just level 50 and more artifact quests which I can do at my leisure. Considering the few bad glitches I got, this was a pretty fun game considering it was my first ES title. However, I did get pretty bored towards the end as the quests started to get less interesting as I went on. A good, but not great game for me.

Nyx, that description pretty much fits Morrowind and Oblivion as well. The games are fun enough to keep you going with the quests, but some of them are just...ugh.

I was hoping it would be my last game of last year, but instead it's my first game of this year. I just beat Radiant Historia for the DS and am fairly certain I got the "true ending." I didn't see all of the bad/early endings, but I didn't want to.

I can see why this game is so well-liked. It really is excellent. It actualy psyched me out at the end.
    Spoiler:
It looked like Heiss was about to fight and I had to beat some extra boss with a solo Stocke, but he actually became the Sacrifice in Stocked! Some other parts of the plot I say coming, but that seriously surprised me.
    Bravely second...
    The courage to try again...

That's how I feel about all sandbox games, TES included. No matter how fun they are at their peak, you ultimately stop playing when you're bored and that final impression sticks. I kinda have to sit back afterward and make myself remember how much fun I was having in the middle. It tends to be more of an issue for me with sandboxy RPGs where I usually ignore the main quest, get bored at some point and want to stop playing, but want to finish the main quest so I force myself to play something that's boring me until it's done. That's why I never finished Morrowind. I'm about 70 hours into Skyrim right now and not bored yet, but I think I'm getting there. In my opinion, any game that holds my attention for 70 hours when it could be finished in 20 must be great.

I'm about 40 hours into a second character, nearly 120 on my first, and still haven't finished the main quest on either. And I'm still hooked. And I don't intend to stop til I get all the achievements on this one, since they're actually pretty obtainable. This is by far the most fun I've had with a Bethesda game. I think I love it as much as you loved Fallout 3.

My opinion is that Skyrim is best when you don't treat it as a package with an end. Less a game and more a "what do you want to do today" adventure. That said, I have no desire to achivement it up.

That's how I treat Oblivion. For I can pick it up at any time, play through it, set it down, and be able to come back 2 weeks later and replay it with no problems.

Does that version have the expansion baked in? I remember the PC version didn't get the expansion because they didn't know how to do it without invoking the piracy ghost.

Yeah, it's considered Chapter 3 and you have to purchase it separately, but like the 360 version it slots directly into the main questline. I beat that as well, mostly because you get awesome stuff for doing so.

Good to know. I still need to play PQ but I want to play the full thing. Still don't know why they never reversed their PC expansion decision and put it out only on Steam if they were that concerned about piracy.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the iOS version. There's a problem with navigating the map where they did not give enough room at the top, so you're basically trying to centre up a tiny spot between two immovable menu boxes. YMMV whether that pisses you off or not.

I just completed Legend of Zelda for NES. It was a lot of fun, but it got really hard at some points, especially with all those Wizrobes running around everywhere. I played A Link to the Past first and was used to being able to move diagonally, and I ended up taking a lot of hits because I was trying to move diagonally. >.< I was still doing that even at the end of the game. Old habits die hard, I guess.

    Tomb Raider: Anniversary (PC)

Completed with all relics and artifacts, and with all time trials completed. Makes me feel better after being unable to withstand The Witcher, as it hurts my gamer pride to be unable to play a game all the way through.

Got the actual ending for Batman: Arkham City (X360). Still have plenty of post-game to take care of, but the credits rolled. Don't know if I enjoyed it quite as much as Arkham Asylum, but it was still very good. I think a tighter focus does Batman good, though. Trying to decide if I'll go back to AC:R or pull out Fallout:NV for the first time.

Finished Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle - Episode One [PSN] as it's free on PSN. Pretty fun! There was one puzzle that just drove me bonkers, but otherwise, most of these were easy. If you have a PS3, it's worth it to give a go if you like puzzle games. Plus, FREE!

Didn't you just hate the final boss, in terms of what it was? It felt like such a cop-out.

Hurray, I've beaten my first game of the year Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard (DS) by rolling the credits. Finished the last boss with my low 60s team of Ronin, Dark Hunter, War Magus, Hexer, and Gunner. Not as good as last year's first which was 999, but still good. Felt like EO2 took a long time to complete, but I'll never know with the lack of a game clock.

It appears that there is some post game content to explore which I may go ahead and try. However, I really wanna move on to the third game now, but if I do that I'm afraid I'll get burned out on this formula soon. What to do?

Mario Kart 7 - 3DS. Hit the point where I decided to call this beaten a few nights ago. Happily the game validated that choice by not letting me skip the credits this time. Going after 3 stars in everything just seems masochistic so I think I'm sticking to online from here on out.

Dark Souls - XBox 360. Finally knocked this out about a half hour ago. After feeling a bit overleveled and pretty much cruising through the last third of the game that final boss was a return to punishing form. I must have spent 3 or 4 hours repeatedly trying different stuff against him before finally taking him down. Loved every brutal minute of it. I'll start really digging in to new game+ tommorow and I'm also planning to start an alternate cleric character, I never did get around to toying with miracles or any faith based weapons on this one.
