Ughhh.... if it gets a Western release I'll likely play it... but I hope the series isn't dead in the water.
"Back when FF9 was coming out. People were rejoicing because it was actually a fantasy game and not a sci-fi game like 7 and 8. It's hilarious in modern context, with everyone wanking themselves to dehydration at the thought of a FF7 remake."

Yes, I'm aware. I'm actually glad that Tri-Ace is getting away from the modern Square-Enix. I didn't really care for Resonance of Fate, but I do hope that Tri-Ace does well going forward.

They're getting away from modern Square-Enix? Not sure how accurate that is when they got brought in to work on FFXIII-2. That said, given Resonance of Fate is far and away my favorite tri-Ace title it seems like they'd be better off working on new stuff with a different publisher. Further, I don't get the feeling anyone there even wants to work on Star Ocean so there series will probably be better off if Square-Enix hands it to another developer (you know, for a non-social-card game title).

Seriously, no need to be so melodramatic. Sure it is not a great use of the franchise but it isnt dead. At least they are paying some attention to it still, that is a good sign.

To be honest, I'm more miffed that S-E went through the trouble to remake Blue Sphere for mobile phones, then never bothered to port it to something more convenient, like the DS. My GBA has seen better days, and I'm not sure it would survive a full playthrough >_<

Learned about this on Gematsu and I was about to make a thread here about it.

    *Edit*

    I just renamed this one.
Never buy a game published by D3 Publisher that is not WKCII. They cheated on their fans by releasing a game that they didn't support not even for a year and they released a rushed translation.

Hey this is fun news even if I'm incredibly late to the party. I liked Star Ocean 4 enough so I'd like to see the next game but the original SNES game was probably the best when it wasn't crashing on my emulator. I'd like to see a good new one that doesn't strain my patience.
