5 years. You guys are great! Let's keep this train a rollin'!

Game on!

2008
2009
2010
2011
2012

So, Basically, Every video game you complete during 2013, You note it here. There's no `Do X, Y or Z games count?` Any and every game counts (except for ultra-casual games like Solitaire and Hearts.). Old, New, FPS, RPG. Everything belongs here. Not just RPGs. Even though this is an RPG board, It doesn't mean that you can't list whatever game you want, This topic is in the misc, gaming section for a reason. Regardless, If you've completed a game during 2013, It goes here. Dates of completion are welcome, just for fun, but aren't necessary, nor is the difficulty settings, neither will be in the final list. When making an entry PLEASE put what system the game is from, as that WILL be in the final list, If you do not have a system for the game, I'm just going to put whatever system I think it's best on. If I've never heard of the game, I'm going to make a system up. Also, Please post the full name of the game you finished. Thanks.

Just so that there is no more confusion, No MMOs will be put on the list.

I'll be updating a master list on this post (hopefully) once a week on Sundays. You can make one post and edit it with new games you might complete, But when I post a new post that the list has been updated, I won't be looking at the old posts for updates anymore.

One last thing I believe I should mention, This is just for fun, This isn't any sort of competition or anything. It's just a fun way to be able to keep track of what games you've beaten and see what everyone else has accomplished over the year. I repeat, This is just for fun.

Games will be listed in the following order:

Systems (In chronological order. I.E. NES, SNES, N64, etc.)
Nintendo Family
Sega Family
Playstation Family
Xbox Family
PC
Arcade

Handhelds
Nintendo Family
Game Gear
Playstation Portable
Mobile Games (Phone or iPod)

So without further ado! Enjoy!

So here's my first game for the year, and one in which I actually suck in very bad (but you can still finish it because it is) Crusader Kings 2 (PC)

Ye gods am I bad at this, and I was decent at Europa universalis 3 as well. Probably because it focus's on the backstabbery and stuff. Heck I inadvertently became ruler of a large chunk of Europe, playing as Holland, because a guy I was playing with literally killed his way through 3 families till I became its successor. Then the Roman Epire declared war on me because I wouldn't give them all that land I had gained back. Doom stack are no fun peoples, no fun at all.

And to continue on Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper Edition (WiiU) has also been completed. The new characters were cool and all, I just hope they've added the PS3 downloadable content as well.

Sleeping Dogs [Xbox 360] is the first game I completed this year. Loved it from start to finish! I felt so bad for Wei at the end. :(

Deus Ex (PC). Even with mods it's age definitely shows but despite the rough edges I'm pretty sure it's going to land pretty high up in my all time favorite games. Not sure where exactly but I already know I'll be coming back to it probably several times in the future and that should help with figuring out exactly where to place it.

Persona 4 Golden (Vita) Final save clocked me at 73 hours. Not a lot I can say about this one that others haven't already said. It's easily my 2012 GOTY.

After several months and clocking at 214 hours, I finally completed Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. Considering the game's original name, I saw certain things of the ending coming, but not others. Wow.

Regardless, this is an absolutely wonderful game. Easily one of the best games I played in a long time. Well done Monolith Soft.

My first game of the year, Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) is now finished. Got maybe 5 hours out of it if I'm being generous.

For a Mario game, it felt really weak. I mostly played it in 15 minute bursts and then quit due to boredom. Really glad it was only a rental, otherwise this would be one of those titles I'd feel like money was wasted on.

Hey, I was wondering if you guys cared or have opinions nixing the PSN, XBLA, etc. sub categories from the list. I know it's been a staple of the list, but what do you guys think?

I don't see a point nixing them, as it gives specifics on where they were obtained.

Doesn't matter to me either way, so I think you should go with whatever is easiest on you, FB.

My second game this year, Mario Tennis Open (3DS) looks to be finished for the purposes of this list. Yeah, theres still a hefty amount of equipment to unlock, but I have beaten all the Cups on both Singles and Doubles, as well as unlocked all of the hidden characters. Truth be told, the game was much easier than the Gamecube version was. Maybe I'm just more suited toward the new Chance Shot mechanic, but the Ace difficulty was much less punishing, and the cups weren't so easy that the computer struggled to even take a point off me. I rented this game to play online with my friend though, and the highly customizable Mii, as well as the mindgames one can produce with the Chance Shots look much more appealing than the stupid Powershots of old. Odds are I'll enjoy Mario Tennis for awhile yet.

Well, in my case it makes something of a difference since several games I'm thinking of playing this year are DL only in the US, but cartridge for my copies. Mainly thinking the Guild 01 games, but there are others.

If it's easier to keep up with, drop em. It's not like you played it on XBLA/PSN, you played it on 360/PS3.

It's also not like we're separating all the PC games by download services either. That would be obnoxious... Hmm. I'd like to hear more opinions on it before I seal the deal, so to speak... But, I've something to think about, at least.

While that is a good point, you still beat them on your 3DS regardless of where they came from. One of the things that I was thinking that we could do is, instead of having the sub categories, if you wanted me to label them a certain way, I could easily do that as well. Like 3D Classics: Kid Icarus, instead of having it under the 3DS 3D Classics heading. You still played it on the 3DS. There was no where else for you to play it...

I don't know. It makes sense to me to change it and after doing the list for 5 years, I was thinking that I'm just making a bunch of extra work for myself by being anal about it.

And I have to throw out that I find Nintendo's various subdivisions in it's store obnoxious for the purposes of this thread. Every one of those games was played on my 3DS but they all have different designations. And soon enough I should have Pushmo beat which will be another different one. So while I'll continue to try and accurately list my games if FB were to decide to consolidate all the various download stuff from Nintendo under one name I would be 100% behind it.
    No, because I hate you.

    Actually, I'm kidding.

Honestly, I just do it because it looks nice when the list is finished.

Well, you're the one who does the heavy lifting. And this is one of my favorite parts of the forums so I'll do my part and try to list them right. Although I'm still not clear on what they call stuff like Pushmo or Zen Pinball. 3DSWare? I need to look into that.

This carries for XBLA/PSN for me as well. Although it's kinda funny when we got the supplemental year of with those going on. :chuncky:

Updating my own list last year, I didn't make PSN or XBLA categories. I just listed games by the system I played them on. That's how my brain categorizes things -- by the system hardware, not by the software format or delivery. I figured other people could do things their way and if someone wanted me to add PSN or XBLA, I'd do it to keep things consistent. I don't know why it was being done for consoles and not PC -- i.e., no one listed GOG or Steam as a system -- but I think it makes sense just sticking to the system hardware for everything.
The lesson here is that dreams inevitably lead to hideous implosions.

I never really understood why we needed to be so specific about what service we beat our games on. If it was for referential purposes, there is already a thread dedicated to cataloguing every RPG currently available via a specific service. The console played on is enough.

    Anyway...

    Mass Effect (360)

I hope to god I never have to do that again. It felt meh to me before. It just feels terrible now. Advancements introduced in ME2 and 3 really were that good.
But it's funny...the game actually foreshadows the endings of ME3. The final fight with Saren basically tips you off to the Synthesis ending.

Completed Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner HD (PS3) it was worthwhile playing, but I think there were too many annoyances and frustrations for me to call it particularly great (damn lock-on).

Ye gods, 3 games passed already. It's a sign I tells you.

Anyways, powered through Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends (PS3)

The extra battles were nice, but it could have done with a Edit Officer Mode. Ahh well.

Turns out I've managed to complete two games today. Just finished off Sleeping Dogs (Xbox 360), that one was pretty great. Wasn't actually intending to complete it so quickly but it was very easy to just pick and up and keep going, which I guess is a good thing.
