Blizzard Demonizes Sony

Sony held a press conference earlier this evening, and Blizzard stopped by to raid the coffers. Either that or the developer announced a game, but definitely one of those!

My question is, will our current PC accounts work on the PS3/4? If so, I'd be down to switching over -- the constant clicking leaves my wrist stiff.

It would make sense that they would be the same accounts since it's all connecting through a central Battle.net service.
Vanillaware’s 2D is, once again, shaming their competitor’s 3D. It’s like, what are you even doing with your extra D, jerks? Maybe we should hold that extra D in reserve for you, like a trust, until you are ready. - Tycho, Penny Arcade

Will the PS3/PS4 versions at least have an offline mode? Or will the game have that encumbrance on console as well?

Considering the people they were targeting to build the game and the amount of money the RMAH makes them, with all due respect, anyone who hopes for an offline mode is nuts ;)

With them talking about 4-player mode, specifically, I imagine there won't be anything offline about the console games either.

So by a "partnership with Blizzard", I take it to mean this is essentially exclusive to Sony branded consoles.

So far my choice is looking good. :)

Well, at least it gets to keep Destiny company on my list of games I'm not touching. :P

The guy who was on-stage wouldn't outright say it was exclusive... so people were thinking it might mean that it could still be coming for the 360 or other consoles.

They had a wrap-up with Mr Mountain Dew (I can't remember his actual name) and he asked if they were going to put it on other consoles.
To which he got a very scathing eyeballing and a "This is the Sony event and we're here to talk about that partnership" (aka, yes it will be, but STFU)

That would be the Doritos Pope, Geoff Keighly.

And someone I know suggested a Diablo Trilogy release for everything before Diablo 3 on PS4. You know, for the lulz.

I think offline mode will be available. I'm almost certain he said you could play togehter without splitscreen with 3 other friends sitting in the same room.

Sorry, that option does not preclude requiring each person to have an account; we have multiple logins per console this generation.

As long as Sony doesn't go the Vita route with the PS4, anyway. I'm NOT swapping hard drives for multiple accounts, Sony! D:

What I'm mildly curious about is whether we'll be made to create a Battle.NET account for the PS3, or whether our PSN accounts would be enough. Blizzard probably has enough real Battle.NET users whereby they don't have to inflate their numbers the way EA does with Origin, so perhaps convenience will win the day here.

I wonder if they will charge full retail $60.00?

This is ActiBlizzard. I wouldn't rule out $70, honestly.
