Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict - Retroview

JuMeSynJuMeSyn Code: KirinAdministrators
edited August 2013 in Latest Updates
Sega had a multitude of projects to deal with in 1995, and a third Shining Force on the Game Gear got overlooked. After a long spate of what the series became in later years, coming back to this example of its prime is a breath of fresh air.
Mishaela sure loves 'oh ho ho ho.'
It's not what he's eating, but what's eating him that makes it ... sort of interesting.

I enjoyed playing this with the translation I found so many years ago
I am bad and that is good, I will never be good and that's not bad, there's no one I'd rather be than me - Wreck-it-Ralph

27 years of gaming and still going strong
and now a Proud if slightly annoyed Father :D

I might try this out as it's one of the few Shining games I haven't played. I know there is an english translation around somewhere.

I love this series, back then, I was devouring everything remotely RPG that was translated from Japan. It felt very retro and basic even then, but I was hooked. I had these RPG tinted glasses that translate simple gameplay to "uncluttered easy to use interface" Music to "Awesome" and story and cliched story of good vs evil to "Epic coming of age journey with profound ethical meaning and a code to abide by for the rest of your life". But also, I really liked the characters. If this was translated to one of my present systems I would probably happily pay $50/£40 and crave more.
If you were to ask me what I actually remember about shining force, without actually googling, I would say, turn based strategy, start off in a village school, er , going through a forest , sewer dungeon , mine dungeon, tower dungeon, anyway it was incredible! <----nostalgia and don't care.
