Stella Deus Silently Hits PSN

edited September 2013 in Latest Updates
Creepy mists were all the rage in RPGs at one point. At least in Stella Deus players can take shelter in catacombs.

Yay new PS2 Classics!

Wish this had silently stayed off PSN ... So many far better games.

Well, clearly the reviews are WRONG...because I got the advertisement email from Atlus, and *they* say this game is a cult classic!!

I liked it. Played it twice. Once regularly, and once doing everything. Still have the disc in my PS2 collection.

I was always curious about this one. I might pick it up sometime with this new release.

I was curious as well. I also had to chuckle at the mention of the popularity of evil mists back in the day of gaming, it's so true. Ha ha. But yeah, I am intending to get it after I wittle down some of my backlog.

I played this on an old TV set that was discolored making everything look sepia toned. I think it helped the game's atmosphere. Everything was mostly gray otherwise; and the characters were just ho-hum about everything.

I remember being excited for the game only to be let down by piss easy difficulty.

Played it. Don't remember it. Must have been mediocre.

I played the heck out of this one.
The main character's VA was awful.
They foolishly had characters named Viper and Viser. Too similar.
The OST was Hitoshi Sakamoto so I bought it.
It wasn't easy to 'catch em all'.
    Good times.

    Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata.

I've played a looooot of tactical/strategy RPGs, and Stella Deus ranks very low. The atmosphere is actually quite moody and beautiful, and the music is excellent, but the story falls completely flat. The gameplay is also not especially great. The inevitable elementary battles were particularly annoying.

"Stella Deus was developed by the team who created Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth"

Ah... probably the worst RPG I played on the PS1. Well then...

Just be lucky you never had to play Beyond the Beyond for the PSX!
