When Jobs and Hobbies Collide

So recently, I haven't been posting here because starting a new job just hasn't left a lot of time. But I've gotten into the swing of things, and a little of what this place does is relevant to ye olde shared interest here. Namely, the archive I work at houses a sizeable gaming-related collection. This includes Richard Garriott (aka, Lord British), Steve Jackson (who was a key player in making GURPS, In Nomine, and some other tabletop games), and Warren Spector (Deus Ex).

I've seen the original discs of the very first game Garriott made, some design documents for a few Ultimas, an entire shelf of new Ultima boxes (some advertising they were on CD for the first time), and a good bit more. This is what we have on display; I may see about using the reading room when I'm not on the clock and actually getting a chance to read some of this.

Here's the finding aids for the aforementioned collections:

Richard Garriott: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/taro/utcah/01410/cah-01410.html
Steve Jackson: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/taro/utcah/01608/cah-01608.html
Warren Spector: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/taro/utcah/01401/cah-01401.html

Definitely feel your pain on not having any gaming time due to work. When I finally am off the wife wants to go out and shop or anything other than stay home.

I really wanna buy a PS4 but I wonder with so little time if it would be worth the investment at this point

    That's...really rad.

I have Ultima I-VII on GOG, but I've yet to try them.
