Working Designs isn't the only one with Growlanser fever. Atlus wants to get in on the Growlanser boxed set craze as well.

Atlus Announces Growlanser Collection

Interesting bit of useless trivia: I typed the word "Growlanser" 26 times while writing this story (including html tags, excluding typing it here and on other pages).

I really wish WD would have stuck the first game in their package. Might as well go all out. it's just one extra PSX title.

Does this mean that both companies have rights to release the games in North America? Could we hypotherically see a later Atlus release of all 3 games in a boxed set? Or is Generations the best we are going to get? Also, either company have plans to bring 4 over?

Working Designs didn't license the original Growlanser title so it may not be released here.

Generations almost didn't happen after SCEA told Working Designs that the only way that the games would be allowed to be released would be in a boxset and WD had it's mind set against boxsets at the time(after the joy that was localizing the Arc the Lad collection).

Wayfarer of Time may eventually be released in the states but really it depends on how well Generations sells. I doubt Atlus will release it over here but only time will tell(currently no one has plans for it's release).

Oh, and since Working Designs licensed the title from Atlus, it's doubtful that Atlus would rerelease them again but maybe they'll release the first title eventually in the states.......but probably not.

It won't be...not by Working Designs, anyway. If Atlus chooses to do so, then that will be great, but considering the issues that have surrounded Growlaser II and III with WD, they won't be the ones releasing the first one, if it indeed were to come stateside.

Anyone know details on that? Why would Sony be against them releasing the games separately?

Because Sony is dumb... I was pissed when sony didnt allow that Megaman collection of all the original games... So Im not surprised that they wont allow them to be released separately...

Sony basically didn't agree that two older games in the same series, in succession should be released as separate games.

Working Designs nearly decided not to release any games for the PS2 but somehow patched things up with Sony enough for them to finally officially announce the collection(which had originally been planned to be unveiled at E3 as seaprate games).

Hopefully Working Designs doesn't take forever to localize the games though *cough* Arc *cough*
