Casablanca and A Clockwork Orange; both are true classics.

Hey Meo, I don't mind the odd Subtitled movie, heck most movies shown on SBS are subtitled, if they're not soft porn of course, or they could be both.

    Watching Hero, a great movie.

I'd have to agree, it was quite disappointing. I liked two the best.

Yeah, Two was awesome. Alfred Molina as Doc Ock for the win.

I'm boycotting the third one... and any other movies after Spiderman 2. Stop butchering a comic that I liked.

With all the hype of Spiderman 3. I kept thinking ... "I bet it's going to stink."

Anytime they pump up and over hype a movie, it's always seems to be stinky. :/

No, not really, and I really don't see where you get that idea from.

I'm just saying that it's kinda amusing to complain about a movie butchering a comic that's done more to butcher itself than any movie ever could. How many times has MJ been revived/cloned now?

You can still not like the movie, of course. I just find that premise for a complaint kinda silly.

I dont see it that way. Spiderman has had its bad stories, yes, but not enough to say that it butchered itself to pieces. Spiderman is still one of the biggest comic icons around. It even survived the Spider-Clone Saga. As it stands, Spiderman is a very well written comic. Its has a plethora of great moments within its pages that outweight many of the bad ones. If the movie fails to reflect those good moments then I think its ok to say that it butchered it. I can see if Spiderman was on its last leg as a comic and was in fear of cancellation because of its horribleness, but not when its on the upswing and with a strong enough history to back it up.

And for the record. MJ revived/cloned = 0 times. There are alternate versions of her in other dimensions, but no clones and she never died. Unless you count the Infinity Gauntlet series. And the Marvel:The End series.

You'd really recommend it? I saw a chunk of it without paying much attention while my Mum was watching a copy of questionable legality but it didn't really capture me.

Finally managed to see Howl's Moving castle on world movies. Positively loved the music in it, very well composed. The animation was crisp and fresh and, well, calcifer made me laugh so hard that I barely got any assignment work done that day!

((but I still say turnip head ftw))

Turnip Head was awesome. I think he was my favourite character. But I thoroughly enjoyed Howl's Moving Castle too.

Aww, I don't like the sound of that. I just rewatched 28 Days Later last week, and it's as great as the first time I saw it. The "sequel" seemed a bit disappointing from commercials. It doesn't even seem like the kind of movie to have a sequel in the first place.

Hmm, I felt that the mixture of human drama and the pacing was really great in the first; it just holds well together.

Weeks, seems to focus more on getting to their next action "spot", instead of focusing on these personal stories. It's what made the first movie so thrilling... and that the story was so believable; but this is unfortunately lacking in the new flick. Well, take this opinion for what it's worth. Catch an early matinee just in case! ?grinning.gif

The Big Lebowski is one of the best movies ever.

Edit: Am I the only person in the world that thinks that Peter Jackson is a hack and doesn't deserve the all the priase heaped on him?

Unfortunantely with the success of Lord of the Rings, which he lucked out on. And the subsequent success (I guess as I didn't actually see this movie)) of King Kong, people worship the ground he walks on. Which is sad.

King Kong was a depressing success. There was too much girl on gorilla staring going on for my taste. I didn't much care for it. I love what he did with Lord of the Rings though. Otherwise, I have no idea what he's done.

And no, bain, no one knows who TinTin is. Who cares about Belgium anyway? tounge2.gif
