Hallum: Legacy of the Moon Slayer
Comments
The phoenix waded through the water as quickly as he could, making his way closer to the lava. He could already feel its glorious heat washing over him as his body began to dry and ignite across various portions. Once he'd gotten close enough, the phoenix's entire body went up in flames, quickly evaporating whatever water was around him. "My turn..." Amir charged forward, sliding past Esmend and Wanda as the two waged their inexplicably large scale physical battle. He took quick notice of Kenjuko charging towards him, quite possibly the worst thing it could have done. "Out of my way, dog!" he roared, removing his traveling cloak as he did. When the wolf lunged at him, Amir simply shifted his momentum to the side and threw the cloak around the beast, clothes lining it in the process. Not wasting any time in delivering a finishing blow, Amir continued his frontal charge, making a beeline towards Katie. "How about you choke on this!" In an instant Amir's flame covered arm shot towards Katie, releasing a violent pillar of fire towards the woman that would likely roast her alive if she didn't get out of the way.
The dragon now had Esmend's attention. While the strike had left a crease in one of his shields, his head had resisted it completely. Instead, the tank now had a dent in its hull, an imprint of a slack-jaw smile. However, Esmend was not smiling any longer. "You bad! Go and die!" He shoved back at Wanda with his one spear and five shields, trying to get her out of his line of sight.
Amir charged beside Rosalyne and wound his flames onto Katie, who let out a look of glee as the fire spread over her body. "PHOENIX, BI***!!!!!!!!" She screamed with a raging splendor as she fired her bullets directly into Amir as he stood before her.
Lydia meanwhile, began to yet again dumbly charge toward Aisling, and as she did, began to be affected by the poison. The strength of the spell immediately began taking its effect and soon the Eel lay dead in the water.
Rosalyne, located nearby Katie, swung her sword at Amir as well. She could see that Katie was doing well, but figured she would try to help anyways.
Kenjuko fought off the accursed cloak, snarling in a ridiculous fashion. Once it had bested its foe it charged instead toward Andrew to repeat a similar process as it had tried against Amir.
Esmend's whimper grew until it was a howl. "WHY! ARE! YOU! SO! MEAN! ?!" he screamed. He began having a temper-tantrum, convulsing violently and splashing the water with venom.
Seeing that the Phoenix was not dead, and still somehow attacked, Katie charged over before the dwarf to once again absorb the fire which Amir shot, her great speed allowed her to ignore most any hindrance the water would have posed, once she was lit alight again, Katie began approaching the phoenix, her rage at him distracting her from her other duties "YOU LITTLE MOTHER**C**** PUNK!" she screamed "WHEN A NICE DWARF COMES UP AND CRIPPLES YOU, YOU DO HER A FAVOR AND STAY DOWN!!!!!" She was now directly over Amir and kicking him, her gun pointed directly at him.
Rosalyne stayed put, keeping vigilance over the scene.
Wanda was surprised over how little the tank had fazed Esmend. She was amused by his call and approached the Orc, gliding over the water, ready for another swing at him.
Katie, hearing the screams of her comrade, briefly turned around to see what was going on before silently shooting Amir in the head, killing the Phoenix before turning to Aisling. "Bring it on, Faerie!" She slapped her hands and gun against her fiery torso, indicating she was ready to fight, a demented grin on her face.
The punches wounded Wanda and left the Dragon enraged. Quickly, she grabbed Esmend and, using her spirit, made him lighter to her grasp, she flew upwards with the Orc. While in midair, she threw the Orc upwards and as he began to fall she batted Esmend at Andrew using her tank as a baseball bat against the poor Orc. As Esmend flew, she flew quickly after him, ready to strike as soon as Esmend landed on Andrew.
Katie was met with Aisling's magic and immediately her spirit took place, the bolt charged its way through the Phoenix's body and exited her mouth, firing directly back onto the Faerie with a great ferocity, firing her machine gun as well as she madly attacked the healer.
The moment Wanda was slain, Adal jumped in and seized the corpse. After several seconds of focusing, he was able to gain complete control over the carbon in her body, extracting it in mass. He sprinted towards Katie with Wanda's remains, crossing the room in no more than a second. He flung the remnants of Wanda at Katie. They constricted around her body, growing ever tighter like a boa made of diamond.
((NOTE: I have seized control of Adal for expedience sake.))
"I want to feel your bones grinding inside of my stomach, pustule-filled grub****ers." Jane laughed more and began to seem unhinged. The Homunculus laughed and upon taking a breath, let out an enormous scream.
Suddenly, a large amount of sound began to flood the minds of the party, blocking out any and all forms of hearing outside of the violent outburst which continued in their head.

This message and others like it began repeating themselves to a deafening level for the party as Jane circled them and Began her new onslaught. With a quick cast of Hecate on herself, she began to turn her attention to the others. Silently, she cast Blasphemus on Aisling, with the intent of severely crippling the girls healing potential; Maenad on Esmend, and Fascination on Andrew, directing the young man in the direction of the Faerie healer.
Jane continued to stalk silently about, her eyes focused uncompromisingly on the party.
However, Jane's blaring message confused Esmend. The orc did not understand any of it, but he was not used to the static in his brain being so loud. He stood completely still, trying to listen to it, until Jane cast her curse.
Unable to express the magnitude of his sudden anger in words, Esmend began screaming at the top of his lungs, pausing at irregular intervals to draw breath. He used one arm to punch himself in the face, and another two to bend his spear into a 90-degree angle, which he chucked across the room in Adal's very general direction. After a few seconds of unfocused spasms, he locked on to one person in particular, Amir. Perhaps it bothered Esmend that one of the good guys had been sleeping on the job, but that might be giving him too much credit. Whatever the motivation, Esmend was now dead-set on tearing the phoenix into tiny, unrecognizable pieces, making an incredibly squishy jigsaw puzzle. The orc swung his body violently in Amir's direction, not running at him so much as attacking the ground with his feet. He did not stop punching himself in the face.
Adal, caught by surprise from the mental assault, decided it would be best to enter a defensive position until he could sort everything out. He vanished into air, which he did not realize until a dozen or so seconds later that he had made the right choice. Suddenly, out of the corner of his "eye," he saw Esmend's spear past through him. He normally would have made some witty remark about this quaint coincident, but he could barely construe a complete thought with such a cacophony echoing through his mind.
Meanwhile, Andrew readied his blade to go on the assault. While dangerous to engage Jane head on, Andrew knew he was one of the only ones that could hurt her; Amir had lost much of his fire power in the loss of Brynhildr, Adal's powers did not really affect Jane's inorganic body, and Esmend was hardly offensive. Unfortunately, after less than two dozen sprinted steps, Andrew found himself unable to focus any of his spare attention on Jane anymore and instead turned around, completely absorbed in Aisling.
Finally she looked down so she could now see Esmend approaching Amir in his confused rage. Jane had done something to him. The Faerie cast 'Viscus' on the Orc. However it didn't seem to do anything. She couldn't figure out what was wrong. Unless her affliction affected her spells as well. Though if everything had an opposite, why did nothing happen? "Amir, Jane's preventing me from healing him somehow. She did something to me too- I keep doing the opposite of what I want to." She called out to the Phoenix as a warning to deal with Esmend himself and as a way to let the rest of her team know to be careful because she was useless as a healer for the time being.
Jane maintained her relative distance from the party, making sure to keep her eyes opened for any signs of counter or Adal's reappearance, and ready to begin her tripwire assault once she had had her fill of magical torment.
Jane looked at Andrew, deciding he should be the one to receive the brunt of her punishment for his transgression. She cast Brainstorm on him, effectively destroying any form of mental reservation he would have about revealing plans, forcing him to speak whatever entered his mind. Following this, she cast Infatuation on the man, knowing his family history and having a sense of poetic symmetry with another person she had known in her past. Knowing that this man was unlike the other though, she decided to go straight for the assault, doing what she would have liked to have done toward the former man.
Confident that these two would help to distract Andrew for a time, she briefly turned to the writhing Amir and spoke her next spell, hoping it to have a greater effect of knowing what would come next. "Helpless" she cast the spell on the Phoenix, making him truly pathetic in her eyes.
Feeling safe for the time being, Jane began to take a renewed interest in the Raiken IV. She set about a plan in her head and let loose finger strands toward the blade, not hoping to wrest it from Andrew, as she knew the strands would not be strong enough for that, but hoping to find some hole in the hilt, and infiltrate it, wanting to jam and corrupt the mechanics inside of the hilt. The strands were small, as they were whenever Jane composed them, held strictly erect by Jane as they moved toward the weapon in Andrew's hand.
Aisling tried in vain to cast a lightning spell at Jane as her spirit deafened everyone in the room. If anyone near the Faerie had been able to hear her speak they would realize she wasn't speaking coherently- she was speaking backwards, however, to her she sounded as though she was speaking normally. This was the reason her spells had no effect; it was not a reverse relationship like she speculated. Unfortunately, this knowledge was still undiscovered by Aisling. Still rendered useless by the curse, she tried healing Amir yet again from Ichimori's protective spirit. Unable to hear herself she screamed "VITA!" Well that's what it sounded like to her at least. To those nearby heard "ATIV!", that is if they heard her at all. She turned to look at Andrew who was still fixated on her, but now there was something different about the way he stared at her. "thgir lla uoy erA? werdnA...?" She yelled loudly to hear herself speak. "esaelp su pleH! ladA!" Aisling had to figure out a way to get her magic back, she was completely defenseless. Ichimori's spirit would not save her from the powerful onslaughts Jane was capable of.
With this she gained silent casting, nullifying Jane's curse on her and she quickly turned her attention to poor Amir and attempted to heal him though she was unaware he was trapped under 'Helpless'. The curse effectively prevented her from helping her ally to which he Faerie decided to go on the offensive before Jane could make things worse for everyone. She took aim at the woman and fired 'Divinus' at her.
