And the Super Mario Brothers movie wasn't bad, if you ignored any reference to the Mario Brothers franchise of that time.

We've been watching Season 9 of Stargate SG-1 on dvd. We tend to watch mostly tv shows on dvd... The Office season 2 was also a recent marathon viewing...
I'm looking forward to the new Christopher Guest movie - "For Your Consideration" coming out next month I think... I love his movies.
that was great,
i dont understand why it was canceled
I can't sit down and finish Everything is Illuminated, but it's piss-your-pants hilarious so far. I still can't take Elijah Wood seriously as an actor...
I want to see Saw III and the Illusionist.

Heh, seesaw. Always funny to talk about whether you have or have not seen Saw. Although I have no plans to watch it. I'm not a fan of horror films most of the time, even less so when they are splatter. My friend Pat loves them though. The Final Destianation trilogy is one of his favorites because of the number ofoutlandish deaths. I watched Cry_Wolf last night and that was pretty good actually. The intial previews for when it was in theatres was pretty bad, but later on a dvd preview it looked worth watching.
I haven't actually bee to the theatres to see anything for awhile, I'm gonna go see Borat tonight with a few friends I think. The cheaper cinema isn't playing it, and we have to wait until 5 for a freind to get off work so we're gonna pay extra ::sigh:: oh well.
I don't want to see Saw III.
Seesaw. Heh.

Do yourself a favor and see this movie. I actually don't want to elaborate on the plot at all since I found it so enjoyable to let the movie unfold before you. My standards are somewhat high for movies, although, I don't go out to see many, but this movie blew me away.

One of the best anime movies I ever saw.
Don't know why but I still enjoy all of those "childrens" movies more then the "adult" films that get released.

Man, I watched that one a few weeks ago. Perhaps the single most depressing film I've ever watched.

Lately I've been watching that Last Exile series. I'm only about eight episodes in so I'm not really sure what to think. The animation is lovely and I like the atmosphere, but I dunno. Aside from Lavie none of the characters have jumped out at me as being particularly interesting, so we'll see. It's definitely not bad, at any rate.

I loved the ending, though. Very tragic and poignant. Although the story had been leading towards the last moment throughout its duration, it was still kind of surprising. And in retrospect, had it ended any differently, it would have cheapened the film, I thought. Anyways, splendid movie, Jin-Roh.

Well, if it had ended differently, there goes the Little Red Riding Hood metaphor that Oshii was trying to hammer throughout the whole film. Yeah, any other ending would have made the film cliche. Bleak, but very deep and satisfying piece.
Right now, I'm going through and watchin Hellsing, having gotten the box set. Fun little anime. It's interesting that they're trying to play up a rivalry between Protestants and Catholics, at least in part. Seras is a bit on the whiney side, but I suppose that's mandatory for anime heroes/heroines, at least in multi-episode series.
