Just started this one up tonight for a bit to see what it's like. The start screen music is rockin', just not very long. The opening sequence has a bit of background info, starting with timeframe (late 19th century), location (Victorian England, with England spelled out in kanji), and a bit of info about the main character's father, Dr. Nabokov, who is apparently doing research in England. I'm not sure WHY he's working in England yet, but I'm sure the Crimean War will somehow come into the conversation soon.

Well, the lead-in for the story is incredibly short. Mikhail, Dr. Nabokov's assistant and occult enthusiast, comes in and tells Alice the heroine that monsters have come up out of a pit in the basement and kidnapped her dad. Instead of taking his advice and fleeing, she decides to go in after him. During the conversation it's mentioned that her dress is magic (and made by Mikhail).
