edited February 2007 in Role Playing Games
If you were lost in a world without video games, and had one chance to pick a squaresoft title, which one would you pick?

Considering that...yes, yes, none of these are PC games, I'm going to move this topic.

Hmm, that's a tough call. FF5-9, CT, FFT, and SD3 all make my list of "Games that 0wn j00", but I can't really narrow it down any further. So that's an 8-way tie. wow.gif

My list is a lot like the guy above me's list except a little mixed up.

    1. Final Fantasy IX tied with Final Fantasy VI
    2. Xenogears
    3. Final Fantasy VII
    4. Chrono Trigger
    5. Final Fantasy X

I'm just gonna vote for FFIX though because I know tons of people will be voting for FFVI.

Actually, I'm more of a Seiken Densetsu 3 fan. That'd be my favorite. As for the other RPGs not put on this poll, sorry, should have included an 'other' category.

I also would have picked Liva-A-Live had it been listed, but oh well. ?So I made my vote stand out - I'm the guy who voted for Chrono Cross. ?tounge.gif

EDIT: You also forgot Parasite Eve. The first one was a very fun game. The second... well, it had potential.

No SaGa games?! Squaresoft's SaGa games are by far my favorite games they make. Their advancement systems (except for the third GB game) I like better than traditional levels. Plus nonlinearity (in the games with the Free Scenario System) is great too.

I couldn't vote cause my choice isn't up there. I know dungeon crawling isn't for everyone, but Vagrant Story was fabulous. I mean, the story was so complex yet so profound (I think it had a lot more depth than some of the FF games), the characters were well developed, I thought (They became real to me by the end), the music is the most gorgeous I've ever heard, and chaining can be really fun once you master it!

Xenogears, for trying something different, and Secret of Mana, for nostalgic purposes.

Had I gone for an SNES all those years ago instead of my faithful Genny, I'd probably pimp FFVI here with the rest of you cats, but my roots are with Phantasy Star.
