I will agree that anything Working Designs has given us has incredibly good translation, but Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete takes the prize for best localization. I mean, Star Wars references, references to old commercials, countless laugh-out-lo…
Oh yeah, I'm also psyched about Harvest Moon.
Port/Remake wish list: Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 2, Final Fantasy VI, Super Mario RPG, Illusion of Gaia, Star Ocean (the original), Dragon Warrior/Quest IV-VI.
My favorites?
Well, I'm always a fan of the Active-Time Battle system (FFIV-IX, FFX-2, Chrono Trigger). A good system, if a tad overused.
Other favorites include Grandia (never played Grandia II, although I hear its system was very similar to …
For me, it was Super Mario RPG. I got it for the Mario part of it, and it opened my eyes to the genre.
Unless, of course, you're counting the Zelda series, in which case my first exposure was really Zelda II, many many years ago.
OK, here goes...
NES
Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: Adventures of Link
Final Fantasy
SNES
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
Illusion of Gaia
Secret of Mana
Final Fantasy II (IV)
Final Fantasy III (VI)
Super Mario RPG
Lufia & the Fortr…
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and not a whole lot else right now...
...but before I got that, and anytime I get pissed off at it...Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy Tactics, Star Ocean 2, Zelda: Wind Waker.
I'm also playing Soul Calibur 2.
All right, I have not read this entire topic, but I've read the first page and a half, as well as the last page.
First off, I do believe that Chrono Cross was intended as (and is) a sequel to Chrono Trigger. ?It's all about the unintended and unf…
I'm not entirely sure what message board I read this on (I think it may have been GameFAQs, but I'm not sure), but someone summed it up, at least to me: Chrono Cross is all about the unforseen consequences of Crono & Co.'s actions.
My fave would have to be the NP Super Mario RPG Guide.
I remember buying it at Barnes & Noble before I ever even saw a copy of the game itself. Spoiled some stuff for me, but at the time I'd never played an RPG before and didn't really care a…
My faves:
FFVIII's card game, Triple Triad--So much better than Tetra Master from FFIX
Fighting game from Xenogears
Speed-like card game from Xenogears--good ol' fun that didn't require much thinking
Beetle Mania from Super Mario RPG--sa…
I, and some other people, at the OverClocked ReMix boards have been discussing the Chrono Series for a long time now. One of our discussions was on this subject. Our many discussions led to the creation of the Chrono Compendium (link in my sig). One…
My fave NPC? Just about anyone from Lunar: Silver Star Story complete...but especially the one standing by the bar in Saith...the first time you talk to him he quotes Obi-Won Kenobi. I always liked that one.
My favorite underrated RPG would have to be Illusion of Gaia. ?It had very good Zelda-esque gameplay, good music, and a great story.
Another good one, if it can be considered underrated, is Star Ocean: ?The Second Story. ?Such a deep game...

"My life is a chip in your pile. Ante up!"
--Setzer, FFVI
"I dreamed I was a moron."
--Squall FFVIII
"A small stone may make a ripple at first, but someday it will become a wave."
--Wiegraf, FF Tactics
That's just a few of my faves.
I've only been visiting RPGamer regularly for about 8 or 9 months and didn't know of Tony Green before reading the article on the site, but it still brings a sad feeling to my heart. My condolences to his friends, family, and the staff of this great…
